Lanny Arruda Jr., 53, of Kalaoa died July 10 at Kona Community Hospital. Born Sept. 8, 1958 in Hilo, he was a truck driver for Costco Wholesale, and a member of Ekalesia Protestant Church and “Juz Us” Motorcycle Club.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 18 in Hilo at Leleiwi Beach Park. Family requests casual attire to be worn and no flowers.

He is survived by wife, Kaya Keanaaina-Arruda of Kalaoa; sons, Cody (Pomai) Kalima-Arruda of Puna, David Arruda of California, Kamakani Arruda of Kalaoa; hanai sons, Loren (Jodie) Freitas, Jr. of Kailua-Kona; hanai daughters, Pualani Keanaaina of Las Vegas, Iwalani-Marie Keanaaina of Kailua Kona; brothers, Kingsley Aweau Sr. of Maui, Larry Aweau Jr. of Hilo, Herman Aweau; sisters, Liena (George) Kaaweamahi all of Oahu, Blossom (Joseph) Berry of Massachusetts; a grandson, four hanai grandchildren, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
